What was formed as Eton Athletic Club, became Windsor and Eton AC in 1953.

It then merged with Slough AC in 1968 and in 2000 became Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow AC following amalgamation with Borough of Hounslow AC.

The club joined the BAL in 1979 and UKWAL in 1993.

Windsor’s link to athletics history is one of the sport’s greatest stories. The London 1908 Olympic Games, had the marathon from Windsor Castle to London at 26 miles. However, in order for the race to finish in front of the royal box, an extra 0.2 miles was added, thus making the current official marathon distance 26.2 miles.
