Formed in 1921, the club disbanded due to the outbreak of WWII, but reformed in 1948 as Basingstoke AC. They merged with Mid Hants AC in October 1990 and joined the BAL in 2006.

On the 6th July 1957, Janet Ruff ran world record time of 56.4s for 400 yards, alas no women’s world records were accepted for distances over 220 yards in those days.
