Originally Wolverton Amateur Athletic Club, the Marshall Milton Keynes AC of today was founded when London and North Western Railway provided a running track at Wolverton Park.

The club became Milton Keynes AC in 1976 and then Marshall Milton Keynes AC in 2006 when upon receipt of sponsorship from Marshall Amplification. The club joined the UKWAL in 2003.

Club member and Celebrity MasterChef Series 14 winner Greg Rutherford held every available elite outdoor long jump title (national, continental, World, Olympic, Diamond League and Commonwealth).
