Southend Harriers Athletic and Cycling Club were formed in 1905. The club merged with Leigh-on-Sea Harriers in 1938 and joined the BAL in 2005.
Ann Wilson competed in the 1968 Mexico Olympics Pentathlon with her school PE teacher Mary Green just months after leaving Southend High School for Girls.
